We need more Women in Tech
I am always amazed by the number of women in a boardroom. And you can rest assured the numbers drops dramatically in the Technology sector. I was part of the first batch of matriculants in 1991 to study Computer Science as a matric subject. Although my tertiary education involved marketing, my career moved from marketing, to broadcasting and came full circle back to technology.
When I joined Carver Media 13 years ago, I was intrigued by how Google made money and that is when I started studying Google Adwords and Analytics. We need to break the stigma of technology being a male dominated industry, and it starts with our children. They need to know that there is unlimited potential and opportunities in the tech sector.
